Sticky Post

We may have the best life care in the world however; our health care SUCKS!!! I consider my self a social liberal and a finical conservative and normally when it comes to government spending you will find me on the right of center. However; I feel strongly that health care is a moral issue and when making tough decisions like this I revert to Immanuel Kant’s categorical imperative (CI) to solve the dilemma. I cannot find any argument that supports letting people DIE, because they do not have the resources to adequate health care. Hedging a bet on someone’s life has so many things wrong with it!!

Personally, I think the best thing you can do when debating this issue is to ask this question, should heath care be a RIGHT (everyone no matter what their economic status should have access and a right to live longer and healthier) or a PRIVILEGE (it is something you buy and the more money you have determines how healthy you are and how long you live).

How insurance companies drive the debate

With almost 20 years inside the health insurance industry, Wendell Potter saw for-profit insurers hijack our health care system and put profits before patients. Now, he speaks with Bill Moyers about how those companies are standing in the way of health care reform.

Learn the basic principles of President Obama’s health insurance reform plan as presented to Congress on September 9, 2009.
